Evangel Christian Churches, ECC

Drs. Jerry & Sherill Piscopo responded to God’s call to pastor in January of 1989. In the basement of their condominium, they gathered with 3 other people for a time of prayer and ministry.

As the church grew, God directed the Piscopos to move from their home to Immanuel Church in Roseville. He then led their congregation to a one room schoolhouse in Eastpointe, and a few years later to the Roseville Recreation Center. Finally, the Piscopos felt directed to purchase their first church, Christ Church of Gospel Ministry, where they stayed from 1990 to 1996.

In 1990, God brought Apostle Emmanuel Cannistraci into the Piscopos’ lives and hearts. He became their apostolic overseer as they developed covenant relationship with him. After much prayer and fasting, and with Apostle Cannistraci’s prophetic direction, they purchased their current building, Evangel Christian Church, debt free! God miraculously provided the finances to pay for the property, as well as complete remodeling of the building.

Evangel Christian Church also planted several other churches throughout the Detroit-Metropolitan area. These satellite churches helped meet the needs of the community, as well as providing invaluable experience for developing ministers.
